12th Annual Walk for Animals on Fiesta Island

If anyone would like to support a good cause, Karen is participating in the walk on behalf of Hercules, the dog.

For anyone reading this, please help by donating a little bit of money.  It helps the San Diego Humane Society.  Why, you may ask, would you support the San Diego Humane Society?  They have their act together.  I wish you could check out their facilities.  The City Pound is right next door and relative to the pound, it's a wonderful location for animals to chill while relocating.  They provide dogs with their own suites with a bed, a dining room table, a chair, and a tv.  They get normal human socialization every day so they don't forget their trained behavior while there.  They really have their act together.

The link to Karen's website for the walk is here:

Thanks (and for those of you that know me and know that I wouldn't give a penny to any organization that doesn't deserve it, I donated, so I really believe the SD Humane Society could put that money to good use -- oh yeah, it's tax deductable).

Broken Turntable

Fuck the TSA.  They broke my turntable.

I brought one with me while I work away from San Diego for a couple months.  I placed it carefully in my ATA approved turntable case.   I checked it in believing that it would be completely safe.

I was proven wrong.  The TSA went out of their way to take my turntable out of the case and flip it upside-down inside the case.

I feel broken.  It's not the end of the world or anything -- I just feel like I should be able to take the man or woman who works for the TSA and strap them into their car upside-down or maybe just let me throw my turntable at them.  But, I won't be able to.  Hopefully I'll get my repairs paid by the TSA.  Given their competency level, I think that's asking way too much.

So, after bringing my turntable with me, I am without scratching for another few days.  I'm also out a couple hundred in repairs (hopefully I'll get it back in 60 days... or 60 months).  I need to find a good shop tomorrow.

Fuck the TSA.

The Beach.

I went to beach last night.  (I obviously forgot how to write in English.  I went to the beach last night.)  That's right... the beach.  We drove to Coronado Island and saw the ocean.  Karen and I even walked on the sand.  It's the middle of December and I was walking on the beach... at night.

For those of you that live on the east coast (aka Damian):  I'm sorry.  It must be cold.  San Diego is a really nice place to be.

An update...

Since June:
The first of my friends got married.
I lived on a ship for 2 weeks.
My car's radiator started leaking.
Karen and I got to see some of Wyoming.
I found my new favorite movie quote:  "Quick, change the channel" -- Zangief (Street Fighter)
[It used to be "Bietches come" from XXX]
Started taking advantage of health insurance.
Got a dog.
Found another place to play basketball.
Moved into a house.
Received a call from another friend saying he would get married in a year.
Had friends quit their jobs and move away with full intention to come back.

and a whole bunch of other shit...
